Show BELOVED MORGAN COUNTY PIONEER PASSES I 1 MONDAY MARCH 18 mrs sarah dmn emma la butters 83 widow ot of thomas uttley butters died monday at eight forty five a in at the home of a son jack butters 2766 adams ogden from causes incident to old age M mrs r s butters u t r s was w as born b 0 r n in london I 1 te d E england n g I 1 a n september e p t e m b e r 3 1856 a al daughter of samuel and sarah I 1 bailey baker her mother died when she eight months old and she was cared for fr from orn then until the time of her marria marriage e oy y an aunt mrs ellza eliza morris with whom she came to utah in october 1862 the family resided in center centeri I valle tor for one year and then moved to morgan she was married to mr I 1 butters nov 6 1872 in the salt lake endowment house he died in morgan march 28 1936 mrs butters had been active in tae me L D S church and was a member of J the relief society tor for 76 years she also served as a relief society teacher for 37 years she was a member of the daughters of utah pioneers camp morgan and was also ako well known tor for her beautiful needlework at the age of 75 she was awarded first prize in the morgan county fair she had also exhibited at the utah state f fair air where she received a number of awards she was the mother of 16 children the following ot of whom survive her thomas W and delbert butters and mrs albert welch morgan jack butters mrs george ranson ogden newell butters green river wyo and kenneth butters of salt lake city 57 grandchildren 48 great grandchildren services were conducted thursday at two p m in the morgan L D S tabernacle by richard H rich interment will be in morgan ceffie cemetery tery directed by larkin sons mortuary |
