big g time and a most moat enjoyable one the day was given give over to lo th the a entertainment of our returned soldier boys and the townspeople in general joined in the festivities the affair was waa under the diree it tion am a of f the soldiers welcome home committee appointed by the paro we wan branch of the iron county chapter of the american red cross cron mayor lowder declared a half holiday for the town and the exercises commenced promptly at I 1 p in with the returned soldiers alt all in line parading on main street from the tabernacle to a I 1 the he parowan carowan druz drug store and back again finally comma down to the carowan parowan ahM M 1 M mand and there going t through some borne of their drill work which had occupied their attention for the past several months in the training camps campa of the U S the boys were led by stilt bain matheson Ma theaon who handled them in a masterful manner the boys responding readily and promptly to the various commands given give never a hitch was made by any 8 soldier idler and their work was as regular as clockwork clock work their appearance was a inspiring aspiring and a cleaner e iney classy bunch rich of men would be hard bard to fin find it in tile the world they carried themselves erect and wen t through the drill work with a preciseness mat at showed they had one and all amp been conscientious in their work musical numbers by P H S orchestra benediction by david matheson after the meeting the soldiers were given until 6 to prepare for the banquet in their honor to which they and their ladies had been invited promptly at ahe honour on mentioned they came and a were re seated mated by the banqueting committee at tables mablea fairly loaded with good things to eat such things as mother always bouquets bouquet of fresh cut flow flowena fl owera 1 and on each plow plate was wag a b beautiful tle ed of bouquet fur for the soldiers BOl diera ard ladies the flowers lent an added charm to the foo food d and decorations and were admired d by every person at the banquet they their were furnished by florist thos lawrence of cedar city and came from his floral hill greenhouse ereen green after the soldiers eol diera had bad been bee banqueted banciu eted to their hearts content they were escorted to the school house auditorium where they m mingled I 1 angled with the townspeople in a merry dance which lasted until nearly I 1 this thia miming many were the complements given by the soldier boys boya and they enthusiastically ED th expressed express il their appreciation of the honor
