Show J A V: TT n roily nj TO) I ARE APPROVED fa m" The House of fell upon the first House Bill No. 100 passed the house by a majorify of 49 to 6 the first of this week. This bill was prepared and designed by its author, Wayne N. Mason, to give producers of agricultural products a legal right in processed farm products commensorate with their contribution to the total value of the processed product. It's author feels that its only just and fair that all who contribute towards the creation of a certain product should share in the proceeds from the same. Representative Mason feels that this bill should be passed and is, in bis opinion, fair to grower and manufacturer alike. An effort has been made on the part of the author to provide provisions in this bill which will not hinder or interefere with the established practices in business relative to financing the operation of canneries. Section 3 of the bill provides ways and means of substituting the lein created by the proposed law with a trust fund thereby allowing mortgagees, or buyers, of the processed goods a way to acquire clear title to the good involved. According to the author, the bill has been heartily endorsed by the Utah State Farm Bureau and the utah Canning Crops association. Such a bill, it is believed, will prevent a cf the loss our farmers sustained last fall. Growers, or anyone interested in the passage of this bill, should write; as it is feared that a the senate-)-;;- , stubborn firht will be made against the bill in the senate.
