Engagement of Florida Miss Announced Mr. and Mrs. W -M. Hutchison of Chipley. Florida, announce the engagement of their daughter, daugh-ter, Ruth, to Ferron Jones, son of Mrs. Preal Jones of Pleasant View. The marriage will be an event of Wednesday, June 12, in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. A reception will be tendered the young couple by the groom's mother. Friday evening, June 28, in the Pleasant View ward amusement hall. They plan to make their home in Pleasant View. Death Claims Ellen E. Holdaway Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted Friday, June 7, in the Vineyard ward chapel for Mary Ellen Ekins Holdaway, 66, who died at Utah Valley hospital Tuesday evening of pneumonia. Bishop J. Taylor Allen will con duct the service. Interment will take place in Provo Burial Park under the direction of Quist Funeral home. Mrs. Holdaway is the widow of Elmer T. Holdaway, who passed away August 20, 1936 at Montpelier, Idaho, where they were spending a short vacation She was born in Provo, January 6, 1880, the daughter of George and Mary M. Mezenen Ekins. She attended Page school and Brigham Coung Accademy. She married Elmer T. Holdaway, March 11, 1903. She was an ardent LDS church worker having hav-ing served as president of the YWMIA and Primary organizations organiza-tions of Vineyard ward for many years. She was the first Sharon Stake Young Women's Mutual Improvement Association president, presi-dent, a position she held for five years. She has also served in the Vineyard ward Relief society presidency and as a district teacher. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and served one year as captain. As family genealogist, she secured secur-ed many records from England and Switzerland, and completed a great deal of temple work. Mrs- Holdaway is survived by two sons, Elmer Harold Holdaway, Holda-way, Vineyard; Dr. Reed A. Holdaway, Springville; two daughters, Mrs. Ellis M. (Lucile H.) Orme of Tooele; Mrs. Earl E (Alene H.) Jones of Ogden; two brothers, A. L. Ekins of Hinckley, and A- Ray Ekins of Pleasant View; and 12 grandchildren. grand-children. 4-H Club Future Homemakers Organise Mrs. Eldon Perry was hostess hos-tess to Pleasant View 4-H Future Fu-ture Homemakers. Edgemont Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, met at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Ferguson Thursday afternoon, in commemorating commem-orating the birthday of Brigham Young. A gala time was enjoyed, much fun being had from the white elephant sale and pot luck luncheon. .The infant daughter of Lloyd and Emma Sundquist was given the name Ellen Mary at Fast meeting Sunday. Sergeant Bradshaw is assigned to the 127th Labor Supervision center, stationed in Erlangen, Germany where he is serving with the European Aviation Engineer Command. Tech. Sergeant Bradshaw entered en-tered the army in March, 1944, and served at Camp Roberts, California, and Fort George G. Meade, Maryland before leaving for overseas assignment In September, Sep-tember, 1944. WINDSOR Mrs. Ferry Nielson, Reporter Announcement is made of the engagement and forth-coming marriage of Bob Wright, son of Mr- and Mrs. Robert Wright of Orem and Miss Lois Hackling of Benjamin.
