In consequence of the absence of tho Mayor tho meeting was adjourned till tho 3rd inst. -Si Feb. 3, 1004. Council met at tho usual time and place with Councilors Leigh, Hcyborne, Palmer and Corry present. Councilor Lol'ih was appointed appoint-ed Mayor pro tern. Water schedulo for tho year 1001 was called up, examined, aftd nfter some changes, wns ratified and accepted by the council and tho Jtecorder wns instructed in-structed to notify each taxpayer of the amount of property to bo assessed for the purposo of supplying water for domestic do-mestic nud Irrigation purposes for the year 1004, and notify the taxpayers that the Council would hear complaints it ,. .,1 .1.. ,1Ll. as to the property assessed on the 10th inst. nt 10 a. ra, in the CltY hall. Committee of South and West Field petitioned the Council to ntsistthe land owners of said field to grade the street in said ield near the residence of Mrs. Ann Thorley. Rosenberg Bios, asked for an action of the Council in relation to n building now in course of erection on Main street Cedar City, for butcher shop purposes. As the same was considered not being within the provisions of tho City Ordinance Or-dinance providing for the erection of buildings within the fire district of Cedar Ce-dar City. Leigh announced an-nounced that he expected to leave home about the last of the present month and in consequence tendered Ills resignation as councilor to take effect nt tho end of tho month. Councilor Hcyborne moved that the resignation bo accepted to take effect as Indicated, nnd that the Council tender to Councilor Leigh a vote of thanks as a token of appreciation apprecia-tion of his-lubors as councilor, nnd extend ex-tend to hiuii their best vlshes for his success in his futuro field of labor. City Surveyor, M. 11. Dalley. Board pf Health, John Parry and J. McDonald. Rulldlng Inspector, llcngt Nelson, Sr. On motion of Councilor Corry the above appointments were confirmed.
