The cast, selected by director Brent Hanson, couldn't have been more perfect for the different roles. Paul Elmore, Melissa M. Gurrister and Heather Beck were in character throughout the entire night. They carried the audience away by their believability and their vivid facial expressions. Gurrister even managed a great sob in an emotional scene. The audience cried along with her. I especially liked the way Elmore and Gurrister convinced the audience that they were father and daughter through their amazing body language and the emotional content of the lines. Beck's portrayal of Steffy, in the Libby's mother-figur- e play, was also remarkable. The lighting, mood and set blended in with the play like a piece to a puzzle. The transformation of the set from complete pigsty to ritzy palace was amazing. But then again, I always find such changes as these astounding. The play was about two and a half hours long, but you would never know unless you were bored out of your mind. 18-2- -- '2. SUN The efficient crew members were quick to change the set and the cast knew its lines, so the play's intermissions didn't seem dreadfully long. The production crew and stage manager Marshel Troop did an excellent job tightening all the loose ends and producing a fabulous show. Everyone did their part to make this play a hit. The result had a rather tremendous effect on me as well as the other audience members. "I really like to work with a small cast," director Brent Hanson said. "I am very pleased with the outcome of the play." I'm sure the audience could agree that the outcome of the play was indeed a most pleasant one. Kudos to Dixie theater. They've pulled it olt again.
