Tooele County Attorney Gordon Hall waa elected Wednesday president of the Utah State Association of Counties.. MR. HALL has the unusual distinction of not only being the first president of (he Association elected from Tooele County but he has moved from secretary treasurer to vice president to president of the organization in one year. . A year ago he was elected r secretary-treasurehnd then afof the ter the organization resigned to run for political office he moved up to t. Mr. Hall has served as Tooele County Attorney since 1951. PRIOR TO being elected County Attorney he was attorney advisor at Tooele Army Depot and has been In private practice in Tooele since 1932. He graduated from the University of Utah Law School In 1951. Purpose of the Utah Association of Counties is to encourage closer cooperation between counties, to provide opportunities to exchange ideas and improve and strengthen County's through cooperative efforts to solve problems that individual counties cannot solve alone. THE ORGANIZATION has sponsored legislation that has been pretty well received by the present legislature, he reports. The Association also holds school throughout the year to train County officials in new advancer in their areas of responsibility. Mr. Hall is a native of Vernal and graduated from Tooele - High School. HE IS married to the form- er Doris Gillespie, of Tooele, and they have two sons, Rick and Craig. Mr. Halls mother, Mrs. Clara Wing, also resides in Tooele. Child on Trike Hit By Car A two year old Tooele boy on a tricycle, was struck Tuesday about 10: 10 a.m. by a car driving out of a driveway at 139 South 1st West, Tooele City Police report. Terry Roy Graft, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Graft, 145 South 1st West, was hit and dragged about six feet by a car driven by Margaret N. Davis, 139 S. let West, who was coming out of her driveway. She told investigating Tooele City Police Officer Kenneth Daly that she had stopped for one little boy and when he pass ed pulled forward, hitting the Graft child, whom she had not seen, as he was concealed by the hood of the car. The Graft Child was to be released Thursday from Tooele Valley Hospital where he had been held for observation. Harris PTA To Hear Dr. H. Baird Harris PTA is honored and proud to present Dr. Hugh Baird as guest speaker at their PTA meeting, Wednesday Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Harris Elementary School. Dr. Baird, a BYU faculty member will discuss problems concerning modern math. Modern Math is becoming common throughout the country. Teachers throughout Tooele County have been receiving instruction for some time. Also on the program will be musical numbers from the Me Dougal Brothers. Bills that are before the State Legislature concerning schools will be explained, a report will be given by the nominating committee. Everyone interested in hearing Dr. Baird speak on this important subject is invited to the PTA meeting. GRAZING REPORT GIVEN Seventy three permit holders grazed 2,416 cattle and 3,047 sheep on the Tooele District of the Wasatch National Forest in 1964 leports Ranger Lynn Mit- chell.
