Mrs. Young was one of the kindest and most benevolent of women, always in sympathy with tbe needy, the sorrowing, and the unfortunate. Her intuitions were keen in this dlrrection and s practical was she In her soggestions and methods of : treatment that the results often surpassed the skill of the doctors. She Was a womitn nf great faith and tplrltual in her nature, a woman of prayer and conversant with the Holy Scriptures. True in friendship, firm and unfaltering in her integrity to the Gospel, she has endured unto the end, has fought the good fight, gained the victory over death, and gone to join her husband and dear one?, to await the first resurrection. Deceased was born July 31, 1818 In Newey Oxford Co. Maine, and was the daughter of David and Patty "Bartlett Sessions. She embraced tKe Gospel when a young girl and gatHr ered with her father. and mother to Nauvoo in the ealier settlement ef that city. She was married May 31, 1838 to Windsor B. Lyon Esq. a prosperous merchant in that city. Sister Lyon was a woman of most amiable disposition and, benevolent qualities of lieart, and having been greatly blest with an abundance of this worlds goods in times past she dispensed of her bounties to the poor and distressed, liberally and unosten- tatiously. To the Prophet Joseph Smith she was a special friend, in times of peril and need. Hundreds of the poor Saints have cause t) bless her for her kindly deeds and substantial comfort in the hour of trial and soirpw. Mrs. Lyon suffered much during lhe last few7 months before her demise with dropsy and other ailments.
