Thomas Marioneaux was appointed District Attorney for the Fifth District by Governor Wells Tuesday. We congratulate con-gratulate Mr. Marioneaux. He is one of the shining lights of his profession, and we are pleased to see him get the appointment. J. A. Swapp was in from the Copper Mountain mine Friday. Twenty men are now employed on this property, and the quality of ore is very good. Mr. Swapp believes it will average 40 par cent copper. This property is about. 80 miles south of here, and about 30 miles east of the Grand Gulch. Shipping will soon commence says Mr. Swapp. Rev. S. E. Wishard, D. D., and Rev. Martin of Manti, and Rev. Anderson, of Salina, arrived here Thursday evening. Dr. Wishard is Superintendant of the Presbyterion mission of Utah, and the party will give a series of meetings here for a week or two in a large tent on the Presbyterian chapel grounds. Dr. Wishard requested this paper to extend a cordial invitation to all to attend at-tend the meetings. President Daniel D. McArthur has received a telegram froni President Lorenzo Snow to the effect that a party consisting of Pres. Snow and wife, and son, Pres. Smith and wife, Pres. Richards Rich-ards and wife, Elders Lyman, Wood-rnff,and Wood-rnff,and Seymor B. Young1, expect to leave Salt Lake City next Monday, the 15th, and arrive here next evening. Services will be held in the Tabernacle here on the 17th and 18th, after which the party will return via Kanarra, visiting vis-iting some of the settlements on the way-, j; C. E.
