Show 23, 1962 Friday, November .Tho Tooele Transcript Three Runaway Iicheil U, Cent It With Incomes 62 g Three juvenile runaway boys, to 15 years of ace, were apprehended at 5 p.m. in Wendover, by Deputy Sheriff Vern and Young, Bob Greenhalgh Clark Anderson on Friday. The boys, were from Salt Lake City, but stated that they were from California, on their way buck home. Further questioning revealed that they were from Salt Lake and that one of the juveniles was under probation to the Salt Lake County Court for a previous 11 Over 8 1,000 Tooele County has more' families with incomes over $4,000, proportionately, than have most in communities the United Stiles. Also, it is found, the proportion with low incomes is below average locally. It appears that the general movement has been upward for some time The result has been that many local families have graduated from their former income brackets and have moved a step higher. THE DETAILS ARE brought out in a nationwide study of income groupings, prepared and copyrighted by Sales Management. It shows, for each locality, how much of its population falls within each bracket. The breakdown gives a better understanding of the quality of a market than does the term It reveals 'average income. whether a high income area is so because of a concentration of wealth at the extreme end of the Income scale or whether it is due to relatively good incomes across the board. In Tooele County, the general level is high and the spread is good. Some 62.2 per cent of the local households, it is shown, had cash incomes, after taxes, of $4,000 or more in 1961. THIS COMPARES favorably with the ratio in the rest of the United States, where only 57.4 per cent of the households were in the plus $4,000 brackets. The Mountain States had 56 4 per cent. Have the gains been real ones or imaginary ones, watered down in their effect by inflation and by increases In the cost of living? Government reports show that such offsets have been small in the last few years. Most of the added income has become available for spending. THE SM STUDY lists 11.0 per cent of Tooele Countys households in the $7,000 to $10,000 bracket. They received 16.7 per . cen , of "n , al ")come-Those with cash earnings of $2,500 to $4,000, after taxes, comprised 17.0 per cent of the house holds. They accounted for 10.1 per cent of the income. The 62.2 per cent with earnings over 14,000 collected 84.1 per cent of the total. ' The Tooele Buffs won the right to go to slate with their to 7 victory over the East High Leopards Saturday, The muddy field and the cold crisp air didn't stop the Buffs from staniHding the spots off the Leopards. Every football fan in Tooele can admire this group of hard working, hard hitting, well trained boys, who have really learned the meaning of team work. THE STL'DENTS AT THS are so proud of their football team that the spirit can be felt everywhere. A huge poster has been placed in the main hall. It is in the shape of our state and names the team members. Its purpose is to let the boys know how much is thought of them and how high hopes are for winning the state trophy. Everyone is eagerly looking forward to the game with Orem this Saturday. This game will be played at the Ute Stadium at approximately 2 in the afternxn. The Pep Club has been selling purple and white pom poms to the student football fans. These pom poms added a great deal of sparkle to the Tooele stands at the East game and will liven up the state game also.
