Students greeted teachers and connected with friends old and new as they began their next chapters. Nevia Keller runs to greet her parents after finishing her first day of second grade at Parley’s. Lorenza Zammarron, a third-grade Spanish teacher at McPolin Elementary School, leads her students to their classroom as the bell rings. McPolin students put their backpacks in hallway lockers as they head to their first classes of the school year. Third graders at McPolin head inside upon hearing the chime of the first bell of the school year. McPolin faculty members guide dozens of students to the building after the first bell rings.
