Resident students will carry on their registration regis-tration all during the previous week and new students should complete their registration by Saturday night, December 2, if possible. Registration figures for the fall quarter have far exceeded all expectations, ex-pectations, with an increase over last year of over100 percent. An increase in the number of boys present also was noted. However, some of these will report to their draft boards at the end of the quarter. Reports from various towns indicate that itheir places will be taken by boys just returned from the service or by boys whose occupational deferments permit attendance at-tendance during the winter quarter. quar-ter. An offering of 65 courses in the various fields of learning insures considerable personal choice in formulating a program of study during the quarter. Because so many students are deficient in the high school geometry requirement, which is a requirement for graduation gradua-tion in most higher institutions, a course in plane geometry is being included in the schedule in order to help students remove high school deficiencies before they apply ap-ply for a degree at a higher institution insti-tution of learning. Director Ober-hansley Ober-hansley emphasizes that whether a student wishes terminal courses in various fields or wishes to continue con-tinue his preparation for profesr sional life, a rich offering of courses is available. v |
