Show LAYTON LINES editor CLIPPER since I 1 wrote to you last wo we have bave have lad had a very interesting meeting which was held in the farmers union and addressed by men from lehi a town or city south of salt lake city the meeting was held in the interests of the sugar beet trying to encourage the farmers in its production pru the gentlemen gave quite an interesting discourse on the subject it was claimed by them that a farmer could do far better by b y raising be beets ets than so BO much grain as there was a demand and a market for the fomer bomer it wits claimed that over one million dollars in cash were sent abroad for sugar every year and by raising sugar sugar x ansy keep ep many side causing caming less g graino rai and consequently the price on grain and vegetables would raise prizes were offered to person who would raise the best beets and the largest number of acres our new paper has not yet appeared very cold weather has prevailed during the past week lee ice houses are being well filled I 1 think that in the near future we shall have a new meeting house near the business portion of layton the layton brass baud band is getting 3 along nicely for new hands under the of the captain of the kaysville Kays ville brass band |
