A Christensen was born bora at Copenhagen Denmark Nov 28 1831 While attending showed an inclination for lor art and some of his work found its way to the attention o of a rich Tich woman who arranged to give him a a course in the Royal Academy of Arts where he served a full apprenticeship He joined the Latter Day Saints church in 1850 and was called to labor in the mission field on the Island of Sealand The same year he was sent on a mission to Norway where he was instrumental in establishing establishing establishing lishing the branch of the church He came to Utah in 1857 crossing the plains with a han handcart cart company His wife whom he had married on the ship in ocean mid-ocean assisted him himin himin himin in pulling the cart They first located located located ed in Cedar Valley then in Lehi Later they moved to Fair Fairfield eld and afterwards to Sanpete county locating locating locating ing first in Fairview then in Mount Pleasant and finally in Ephraim He engaged in farming but spent much time painting and his pictures decorate decorate decorate deco deco- rate many of the finest publio public buildings buildings buildings build build- ings in this part of the state He lIe filled another mission to Scandinavia Scandinavia Scandinavia Scan Scan- in 1889 laboring as translator for the Scandinavians He is survived by a widow and the following following following follow follow- ing children Mrs Otto G.
