Show ASS0. CIVIC CLUBS TO PRESENT SOUTH. UTAH PROBLEMS AT CAPITOL j Problems oi vital importance: to the counties of Southern Utah will be presented to the legislative legisla-tive committees by the Associated Civic clubs in their regular monthly meeting which will be held on February 1st and 2nd in Salt Lake City. These will include the support of the Junior Jun-ior colleges; extension of roads in this section of the state; and the gas tax legislation that has come before the legislature. C. W. Love, Jr., vice-president and Washington county director, di-rector, reports that the officers and directors will be the guests of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce at a luncheon on Saturday Sat-urday in the Newhouse Hotel when they will g"o over the mutual mu-tual problems of the two organizations. organi-zations. They have also been invited in-vited to attend the Chamber of Commerce dance Saturday evening even-ing in the Chamber's building. Saturday evening they will be the guests of the Salt Lake Tribune Tri-bune and Telegram. The main object of their meeting meet-ing will be to meet with the various var-ious committees such as the Education Ed-ucation committee, Roads committee, com-mittee, Tax committee and the Appropriations committee. Other business to be discussed with the legislators is: District school project: discussion discus-sion of a bill on the state planning plan-ning board; two road projects, a Wayne county-San Juan county, coun-ty, road, and widening of highway high-way 91 from and through Juab county to the county line; introducing in-troducing a bill to plant fish 5n the Sever river; a report 'from the state road commission on the Roosevelt Highway through the United States from Massachusetts to California; the gasoline tax bill, the civic clubs opposing the use of ten per cent of gasoline tax for construction and improvements improve-ments of roads and streets within with-in the limits of cities and towns. |
