Coach Dinos Harold Cunninghams culminated 90 team points in downing the Utah Valley cavemen, who had 80 points on the day. The girls portion of the meet was cancelled for fear of injury in the cold and damp weather which pervaded Carbon County Tuesday. Both the girls from American Fork and Emery, the third entry in the meet, headed home before the meet was over. Individual efforts in' the running events had John Powell, Doug Perry, and Jack McKinnon all capturing first places. Powell went the distance in the 3200 meter run with a blue ribbon time of 10:39. He also ran a 4:47 time in the 1600 meter for a first in that event. Perry continued his winning ways in the hurdles event to take a first in the 300 meter hurdles with a 42.25 time.
