Show description camps in national forest during the summer of 1939 three camps in logan canyon and one in blacksmith fork canyon are open to reservation for organization outings in order to make clear to ehg th public the accommodations and facilities that are available there is given below a brief description of each area too to assist in choosing the camp that is most desirable for the type of outing contemplated tem plated community camp this area 6 miles up logan canyon by oiled highway is the first pic nie nic area you approach on entering the Gui navah area it will accommodate between to people twin stoves from which hot water is piped fountain sand piles teeters swings horseshoe horse shoe courts wading pool uprights for and a softball diamond are particular features of this area it is here where old and young enjoy a canyon party to the utmost lighting facilities are available surrounding this large area aro smaller areas with aith single units stove garbage can fire place and table available for all yr elte parties to ta accommodate about 50 people these however do not have lighting facilities Gui navah camp this area adjoining community camp is 6 miles from logan and will approximately people during the summer of 1937 civic clubs family reunions and religious organizations used this area very sy L lohing Lohi ht rg facilities are available at moderate cost here it at Gui navah is situated the well known of logan canyon with s a seating capacity of 1000 people a commodious stage and dressing rooms constructed of materials that are characteristic of the surroundings and far enough distant irom from the highway and distracting noises its s setting etting is ideal for t the e presentation sen tation of dramas and other programs the location is particularly fitting as it is sur surround roundel ei by towering evergreen and deciduous trees with a backer background aund of massive cliffs many comments have been made as to the awe inspiring scenery of our intermountain region lighting and stage facilities are a available as also are pure spring water sanitation facilities tables stoves and parking areas boy scout camp this area is a mile and a half from the forks in logan canyon and approximately 12 miles from logan organizations using the camp usually use the lodge it is a commodious structure buit built of hewn logs and large timbers ibers with a fireplace built of rocks and a wide spacious sleeping balcony it also has water piped 10 0 thi the kitchen a cooking stove and cupboard and storage space in an adjoining room near the lodge is a large cleared area suitable for playground activities the camp about a block from the lodge has the campground facil facilities itie 3 char act of the other camps in the canyon friendship camp this beautiful improved campground 17 miles from logan 7 miles up blacksmith fork canyon is located on the left fork of blacksmith fork in a setting of towering mountains and shady trees here is found cold spring water parking parkin areas teeters swings horseshoe horse shoe courts softball diamond sanitation facilities camp stoves and tables bonfire pits and a spacious amphitheatre with ith stage and sea seating tring capacity for people |
