Show THE SIGNPOST Page 3 caH(faU q( the Weak Did you hear about three of the school's prominent men being discovered under the sink in the cooking room one dark night? Maybe they were comparing recipes or brushing up on their fudge-making . . . For a little girl, Penney has big ideas (eh, Renell?) For instance: What do you do with an army, truck? And nudist, camp? It looks as if Bill Thomas is mighty interested in that rosy-cheeked cutie new this quarter, but that's nothing, so are a couple of sophomores (and one can box, too, Bill). Vivian F. likes h'er men tall and dark, while Jane goes for them big, broad, and tough; a green sweater is enough for some gals, though. Wonder if Helen V. 1). has gone ice-skating since the horses fell through the pond? Now that's what I'd call admitting defeat (or are they?). Neal gets the prize (Jimmy Fiddler's no-bell) for her skits. And you should taste her waffles . . . Wow! Ronald Cole's favorite flower is a rose, still in the bud. In case it's too deep for you, ask Ronald. Famous last words: "I'd join the Navy, if John Paul Jones was the admiral." Elva Dee. "Poor Nick, he's still got Brown-chitis." Carr. "I'll have you know I'm not a 'mad-mink', and what's more I don't Woo." Ruth Greenwell. "Now folks, I want to tell you about this advertising on your programs." Pat. Highlights of the games: 'Somebody' dropping their bottle and being very embarrassed. Elmer entertaining (?) everyone with hi 'Alcatraz' yell etc. Arilla Eyre deafening the onlookers with her surprisingly strong yelling, for Ricks. Kalney about falling off the bleachers looking for "Sleeping Beauty" Miller.1 Loud yells of "Are you me or Bachelors". Incidentally the bachelors all date, so why pick on Fuller? And then there's the sad tale of the Morris Bros, and Bus in their Logic class (corrective thinking to you). Alas, for the patience of Job. Don't give up, boys. I w-ithdrew the cork from the first bottle and poured the contents down the sink with the exception of one glass, which I drank. I then withdrew the cork from the second bottle and emptied the good old booze down the sink except one glass, which I drank. I extracted the cork from the third bottle and did likewise with exception of one glass, which I drank. I pulled the cork from the fourth glass and poured the sink down the bottle, which I drank. I pulled the bottle from the cork of the next and drank one sink of it and poured the rest down the glass. I pulled the sink out of the next glass and opened the cork down the bottle. I pulled the next cork out of my throat and poured the sink down the bottle and drank the glass. Then I corked the sink with the glass, bottled the drink and drank the pour. When I had everything emptied, I ste'adied the house with one hand and counted the bottles and corks and glasses with the other, which were 2 9. To be sure. I counted them again and when they came by and I had 7 4 and as the house came by the next time I counted them again. Finally I had all the houses and bottles and corks and glasses counted except one house and bottle, which I drank. Roy Madson, chairman of the advertising committee, states that the club has arranged to have "Swing" William's twelve-piece orchestra. According to the decoration committee, Bill Cook, Dean Williams, and Bart Walthius, the Valentine theme will be carried out, using the Sweetheart of Excelsior as the central motif. The significance of the dance is to choose a Sweetheart of Excelsior. The club members will choose seven girls whose pictures will be sent to Dick Powell. From these pictures, he will choose the Sweetheart and two attendants. The choice will be kept a secret until the night of the dance. During intermission the girls will be announced by a carefully planned and impressive ceremony.
