Show Millard County Chronicle -By INEZ RIDING One of the nicest things that can be said to me"I looked for your column and it wasn't there." Thanks, folks, for missing me! (I'll have to work harder on the ol' boy and convince him that I'm really not the only one that reads Sense and Nonsense!) Surprises come in assorted shapes and sizes. We had let Lynette go to the show to see Some Like It Hot by herself, so about ten o'clock I walked up to the theater to get her and when I walked in there sat this prominent business-man slapping himself on his knees with his eyeballs hanging down to here watching Marilyn Monroe wiggle-waggle wiggle-waggle across the silver screen. - Remember back in the good old days when Dick Morrison was a steady contributor to the Chronicle? Chroni-cle? In one of his most delightful columns he was describing Mae West and her unexcelled undulation. undula-tion. Remember? Well, he had Mae and her undulation and this prominent prom-inent business man has Marilyn and her wiggle-waggle! (Wonder if Dick used to watch Mae and slap his knees and let his eyeballs hang out down to here. But, when all is said and done, we are fortunate, indeed, to live in this great land of ours. Where else can you find a television ad that shows you, the viewer, the inside on another's nose???? When you think you've seen just about everything you get to see the inside in-side of a nose. MOST ENLIGHTENING! ENLIGHTEN-ING! Last Tuesday night, Maxine Bishop Bish-op visited with me while her husband, hus-band, Frank and daughter, Janice, went to Mutual. Soon, our own Bob, Jr. came home and Maxine fcegan to fidget like mad. She kept making remarks about Frank keeping keep-ing her up past her bedtime. About thirty minutes later, the phone rang. "Sister Riding, is my wife still over West Millard to" Observe American Education Week West Millard will observe American Ameri-can Education Week along with the rest of the nation through the week of November 8 to 14. The theme of this year's school week is "Praise and Appraise Your Schools." Parents and the public pub-lic are invited to visit their schools during the week. Schools will have displays up In the windows of stores in Delta. We encourage you to take a look and see what is going on in your own schools. Veterans' Day is a part of American Education Week with special programs 'being conducted in the schools on Wednesday, Nov. 11, sponsored by the Amrican Legion, Leg-ion, Cahoon-Jensen Post 13g. On Friday the public is especially Invited to attend an evening program. pro-gram. Dr. Antone K. Romney, who recently visited Russia, will show slides and give a lecture on "Russian "Rus-sian Schools." The meeting will commence at 8:15 p.m. in the Delta Del-ta Elementary School auditorium. More will be announced concerning concern-ing this meeting in next week's Chronicle. It's raining and I don't believe that she wants to get wet. You come get her." "How can I? She has the car." (I didn't have a stop watch, nor did I get to go with her, but I would imagine that she has set a new record.) Whether you are interested in sports or not try reading Ken Lo-vell's Lo-vell's column on the school page. That young man has a way with words and he can make a football fan (now it will be basketball) of any of us. Take it from me! I hope that he continues to write. I believe be-lieve that he could have quite a future in that field. While I'm urging you to read his column, why not read all the correspondents cor-respondents news from the various towns and communities of West Millard? Discover who visited whom and other interesting things about your neighbors. Last week when Athena was so ill, I was in the shop the first three days of the week and I feel so inadequate, in-adequate, trying to fill her position. One can't imagine how much detail de-tail there is to getting out a paper once a week until one tries to help. Through carelessness I left out three important notices last week. Each one was to take place last weekend. My apologies to the District Dis-trict Scouting Committee, First Ward Mutual and Delta Merchants. I'm always glad when Halloween gets here 'cause it lasts only one day! Our street is probably one of the ousiest in town for an hour or so. I'm sure that we had 70 callers, because I had treats for that many. After passing out treats to seventy, seven-ty, I started passing out apologies and that must have been to fifteen or more!
