Show B6The Tlmas-lndepandan- Thursday, March 12, 1987 t, Youth Center group now looking for ways to raise funds for Center Students and young adults from the Moab Community Youth Center have been adding their efforts to those of their adult sponsors in finding ways that they can help support the Center with various fundraising projects. The group recently met with Dave Sakrison, Moab City Councils Parks and Recreation representative, who has agreed to act as business adviser for the young peoples ventures. Together they determined a number of possibilities to work on, including both short and long-tergoals. As one of their first projects, some of the Centers young people will be touring local neighborhoods offering to paint house numbers on curbs at $3 per address. The group will be m starting this Friday and Saturday, March 13 and 14, and continue until they have covered as much territory as possible. Another service the Youth Center is offering will be helping in our e Spring Cleanup campaign. Young people with volunteer adult supervisors will be available on contract to do yard work, weed clearing, trash hauling, etc. for individuals or businesses. Moderate fees may be paid in money or donated items such as repairable used vehicles which may be traded for equal value. The League of Women Votes of Grand County is a nonpartisan political organization that promotes active citizen involvement in government. The League of Women Voters is actively seeking new members, however, the main objective is to inform the voters and any citizen of voting age is welcome to attend the monthly meetings whether interested in joining or not. The League has invited all persons interested in shaping the future of the organization to help finalize the upcoming budget and bylaw revisions.
