Show TABIONA RAISES FUNDS FOR SCHOOL LIBRARY PARENT-TEACHERS ASSOCIA. TION ORGANIZED AND HELPS BRINGING UP MONEY Once more the town of Tabiona, having the reputation of being located lo-cated in the richest part of the basin, ba-sin, put itself on the map for doing do-ing things and doing them quickly. After the board of education had announced that any . community which raised $250.00 for a school library, can get the same, amount for this purpose from the board, the people of Tabiona made up their mind that they are going to have a $500 school library. And they will have it. The whole amount of 250 dollars was raised inside of one week. A good deal of the credit for this extraordinarily quick and good work is due to the newly organized Parent Par-ent and Teachers Association. - The organization took place last Wednesday. Wed-nesday. J. E. Hicken was elected president of the. association, principal prin-cipal Jas. H. Moore vice, president, Miss Violet Michie secretary and The meeting Avas heljd tin , the Mrs. L. W. Clark treasurer, school house and the people attending atten-ding filled , the large room to its capacity. The students of the junior, ju-nior, high school rendered as opening number the "soldiers chorus". Principal Prin-cipal Moore made the welcoming speech and advocated a students library, and in less than fifteen minutes, min-utes, while the students band played a selection,, a hundred dollars were signed; by those present, for the purpose of establishing the library. To raise the balance of $130, a com-mittev-wss "appointed -rumpcso.l by L W. Clark. J. H. Le Fevre and E. E. Lawson. ' By Saturday the whole amount was subscribed and paid in. The next meeting of the Parent-Teachers Parent-Teachers Association will be held in January, the day to be made known later In this meeting the committee on constitution will submit the draft of a constitution for the association. The teachers of the Tabiona public pub-lic and junior high school are: Jas. H. Moore, principal, Miss Lucia Chidester, Miss Violet Murphy and L W Clark, substituting for J. k. Lifter who resigned to leave for his home town Woodland in Summit county. ' , . |
