Co-stars of this gala attraction are George Murphy and a great new-comer, Gene Kelly. a New York stage sensation of "Pal Joey," and George Murphy, with whom she appears in a number num-ber of typical vaudeville acts. Vaudeville theatres ranging from the middle-west honky tonks to the Palace are scenes for many such songs as "Oh, You Beautiful Beauti-ful Doll," "I'm Sorry I Made You Cry," "By the Beautiful Sea," "Oh, Johnny." and many others. Martha Eggerth, European star in her first American picture, sings Christines "Do I Love You," and appears in a spectacular presentation pres-entation with a group of dancing violinists in "Spell ofHhe Waltz," a medley of Strauss mdies. A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a JOYOUS Strand Presents TNT-Filled Bill A dynamite program packed with plenty of TNT comes to the silver screen of the Strand theater today when two thrill-a-minute hits blend their explosive qualities to become members of one of the Strands best holiday programs yet. The first half of the bill "Wildcats" "Wild-cats" is a tale of a crucial "battle for the precious minerals oil, and is a roaring drama of the fight to wrest Americas life-blood from the earth. Whirlwind action, thrilling episodes, epi-sodes, skillful comedy and heart-warmning heart-warmning romance provide the theme for this roaring story of men who drill for oil, and of the men who are hell-bent on sabotaging sabo-taging their efforts. Stars are Richard Arlen, Ar-line Ar-line Judge, and Buster Crabbe. The other sensational feature is "Mug Town." Dangerous dramatic dra-matic action is the keynote of this picture which co-stars the famous Dead End Kids and the Little Tough Guys, Hollywood's most reckless and talented group of juvenile performers. The former, which stars the all-time comic favorite, Bob Hope, is a comedy version of conscription's conscrip-tion's lighter side, for Hope lands right in the middle of Uncle Sam's armament program, and audiences ran be sure there will rj plenty of fireworks when this occurs. Blending her appealing talents to the occasion is the glamorous Eorothy Lamour, who shares honors with Hope in this hit, which is loaded with sparkling wit, tuneful melodies, and laugh-lines laugh-lines that explode in split-second precision. The new "Tarzan" hit is in-" triguingly different from the former for-mer members of the series.
