and glazier voting no the committee on wate had found the claim of the sturgis estate amounting to to ha correct and recommended that it be allowed report adopted the committee on streets and alley reported adversely on tha petition of john B love asking the city to exchange a niece of land known a the city sandbank for land adjoining said sandbank belonging to said john B love to be ased for street purposed pur posea mr glazier chairman of the committee did not think the city could at present afford tu purchase any streets hynen vynen the time came that the partie desired a there no doubt they would be willing to open it up without any consideration Mr Maiben enforced endor ced mr glaziers views 0 n the matter the report was adopted and the petition not granted liddiard and glazier presented a majority report of thu committee on license recommending that the petition of the saloon keepers asking for a reduction of tho pool and billiard table license from 20 to 10 be not granted mr maiben chairman of the committee favored the granting of tho petition salt lake and ogden licensed tables at 10 per quarter aad he thought brovo could ablord to do the same the avil would not be increased and it might encourage some one to start a respectable billiard hall not connected with the whisky business mr dixon called attention to the fact that it was the whisky men who had petitioned for the le of the license and not any party who expected to start a new hall not in connection with uie saloon business when some ono desired to start adueh a badness then the council would office for the city marshal and city justice be referred to the committee on public brounda and city property mr dunn asked for the privilege of advertising for a pound beeper the matter had been referred to the committee on elections of which he was chairman bat he had been unable to find a man for the position mr maihen suggested that one of the police officers might accept the no action was taken in the matter mr henrichen Henrich sn aved that the committee on public grounds and city property be authorized to purchase forest treba and also advertise for a landscape and for the west
