Nov. 8 All city officers of Price had been reelected Wednesday, Wed-nesday, the Incumbent Progressive group overwhelming an Independent Indepen-dent ticket Big majorities were returned to ail the Incumbents. The vote follows: Progressive Mayor. J. Bracken Lee, 1338: four-year councilman, William Campbell, 1215; two-year councllmen, E. N. Chidester, 1150; John W. Holden. 1287. and W. E. Mclntyre, 1260; recorder, William Grogan, 1138; treasurer, Carlyle Pace, 1138. Independent Mayor, Oliver K. Clay, 548; four-year councilman, W. H. Maynard. 664; two-year councllmen. H. E. Alley, 781: Lincoln Lin-coln Marshall. 587, and Thomas Pitts, 563; recorder, Theodore Thomas, 736; treasurer, Lamar Davis, 745. People's Ticket Leads At Vernal Polls VERNAL, Nov. 8 Candidates of the People's ticket were successful success-ful here Tuesday in capturing five of seven offices, losing only in the race for mayor and the four-year four-year councilman's Job to candidates candi-dates on the Citizens' ticket , Mayor R. C. Cooper, the Citizens' candidate, defeated B. H. String-ham, String-ham, 380 to 336, in his campaign for reelection. Harmon S. Sowards, already serving on the city council a two-year two-year term, was elected to the four-year four-year post over Thomas Karren, 436 to 275. Sowards was the Citizens' Citi-zens' ticket candidate. Philip Watklns, Donald R. Barr and Wendell Cope were named to the city council for two-year terms. Unsuccessful opponents on the Citizens' list were George O. M alley, al-ley, W. A. 'Banks and J. E. Jones. Charles T. Pope was elected recorder, re-corder, defeating Alvin E. Weeks, and Wilson Murray was chosen treasurer over Oscar M. Lyman. |
