Show Energy Assistance Program Slated November to April The energy assistance program for Garfield County will begin November 1, 1982 and run through April 30, 1983. Designed to assist low-income families pay their utility bills in times of high energy costs, the program will assist all who qualify according to income guidelines set for the program. Operated under Utah Social Services, applications may be made at the following locations: in Panguitch at the Family Life Services office on Wednesdays and Fridays; in Tropic at the Scout House on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 until 5 p.m.; in Can- nonvllle at the Can-nonville Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 until 3 p.m. ; and in Escalante at the health clinic on Wednesdays from 1 until 4 p.m. Varying degrees of assistance are available to one person households earning less than $7,020 annually; to two person households earning less than $9,330; three person households with less than $11,640; four person households with less than $13,950; five person households with less than $16,260; six person households with less than $18,570; seven person households with less than $20,800; and eight person households with less than $23,190. Guidelines exist for larger families also and applicants can check with social service representatives for particulars. Upon application, verification of income is required, along with social security cards and a current utility bill. |
