Show I Millard Count) Thurs July SPS 3 1986 - Page 5 Coniniunity Event SENIOR s CITIZEN NEWS Bessie Webb Couple to wed Mr and Mrs Dale Willoughby are pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter Kellie Ann to Gary son of Mr VVinegar and Mrs Ron D VVinegar of Monroe Utah The couple will seal their lose for time and all eternity on July II 1986 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple A reception will be held the evening from 8 to 10:30 pm in the of July Ward Eseryone is cordially invited to attend and share their happiness The bride is a 1986 graduate of Delta High and the Seminary program The groom graduated from South Sevier High School in 1983 He served a LDS Mission in the Anaheim California mission He has attended SUSC and Snow College The couple plan to attend Snow College this fall and will make their home in Ephraim Utah R Michie arrives for duty Heyborne receives award Dr Robert L Heyborne Dean of the School of Engineering at UniversiCA has ty of the Pacific Stockton been named as the 1986 recipient of the nation's most prestigious Cooperative Education Award The award consists of a citation of achievement recorded on an engraved certificate a plaque and an honorarium (in the amount of Dr Heyborne received the $2000) award on June 25 986 in Cincinnati OH the site of this year’s National Conference This is the second time Dr Heyborne has received national recognition for his contribution to cooperative education Dr Heyborne became Dean of Engineering at University of the Pacific in 1969 He holds the PliD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford He has held many local University offices in the state and national Engineering profession and has received numerous awards for excellence in Air Force Airman John S Michie son of Rex M Michie of Cedar City Utah has arrived for duty with the 24th Civil Engineering Squadron Panama Michie is an exterior electrician His wife Kina is the daughter of Dean and Deloris Meyers of Delta Jolly Stitchers The Jolly Stitchers Club w ill meet at the ME Bird Center Thursday July 10 at pm Norma Meinhardt will be the hostess Engineering teaching Dr Heyborne is a 1941 graduate of Delta High School where he served as student body president during his senior year He is the son of the late Mr and Mrs R L Heyborne I 1 The Rancher Cafe will now - Food Mexican Tuesday with an I feature Cooked to Order - Saturday menu expanded YWe BARGAIN B PRICES!! 171 lYest Chile Relleno I I I I I I I I Another month is over and I don’t know where it went July is always a busy month and before we know it fall will be here I want to remind you that it’s time to renew or get a membership card We would like every Senior Citizen to have a membership card You can get them at the center We had another nice trip last week Our bus went to American Fork to the Pageant of the Arts We left Delta at 4 pm and stopped at Pleasant Grove at the “Beanery” for dinner before going to American Fork The dinner was very nice and the pageant was just beautiful Everyone should see it It’s hard to explain and you just won’t believe what can be done in the field of art until you sec this pageant There is also a lovely art display which we all enjoyed which waiting for the pageant to begin We need your help and suggestions for some fun trips this summer and fall Please come out and support us in the to acthings we are endeavoring complish There are a number of people who put in many hours of volunteer work to try to bring things to the center for your enjoyment We would like and could really use any volunteer help we can get We have a very lovely building and a good program in this area but we will need your help to keep it running You all know that the smoothly government is cutting aid for all programs and ours is no exception it keeps running we are all if Therefore going to be willing to give some free time Our sincere thanks goes to those who came in and contributed their time and energy on the day of commodity mention names I If distribution would be sure to leave someone out and that would not be good but you who came in for commodities know who they are and none of them get paid cept for your thanks Please come out and join us Class of 1976 reunion to be held The Class of 1976 of Delta High School will hold its tenth reunion on Friday July 25 The festivities will be held at the ME Bird Center beginning at 6 pm A prime rib dinner will be served at 7:30 pm The program will follow For a evening please join us!
