Show FOUR MILLION INCREASE IN TAXVALUES Corporate Property of Utah County Increases Valuation Valua-tion $4,300,860. An increase of $4,300,860 is shown iu the assessed valuation of Utah county over that of 11)23, according to the recapitulation which has been completed by the county auditor's office. The total assessed valuation j for 1924 is $56. 310.3S0 as compared with $52,019,520 for 1923. The entire increase came from corporate property withing the county, coun-ty, according to County Assessor Charles B. Hawkins, since the valuation val-uation if improved farm lands within with-in the county have been lessened more than one million dollars from that of the preceding. The gain of the present year came mainly from the Tintic Standard Mining company and the Utah Power & Light company, the assessment assess-ment of the two companies being more than five million dollars higher high-er this year than in 1923. In 1923 tbe Tintic Standard Min ing company was assessed $2,851,029 while this year it reached $7,038,079, or an increase of $4,887,050. The Utah Power & Light company assessment as-sessment increased $182,718, going from $2,734,000 in 1923 to $2,916,77S in 1921. The recapitulation of the assessment assess-ment shows that the corporate property pro-perty in the county gave an increase in 1924 of $5,090,100 over the 1923 assessment, the present value being S22.6S4.408 and the former $17,593,-704. $17,593,-704. There is a loss in the valuation of banks of $105,000 due to the closing clos-ing of .the First National bank of Spanish Fork nnd the Payson Exchange Ex-change and Savings bank at Payson. Provo city gives a material increase in-crease on new improvements, tiie assessed total of Provo. city being $9,009,990, as compared with SS -012.000 for 1923 an increase of $457,990 for 1924. j |
