Bulldogs built up a 24-- score in 0 first half action. Lehi's defensive unit, which is almost all the offensive unit, were great in Saturday's battle with Provo on the Bulldog's field. Even though the Lehi kids couldn't generate a win some bright spots emerged during the hard . fought game. Shane Hickman's tackling, Chatwin's improvement each week at the quarterback post, the running of Brent Morrill and the great play of Eric White, must have given coaches Kenny Norris and Arnie Cardon a shot in the arm. Morrill took a look-ipass and motated to the 17 yard line before BYU will wrestlers 1 1 in Mississippi. Last week Lehi sophs played Delta junior varsity on Delta's home ground and came away with a 12--6 loss; not too bad considering Delta's team is junior varisty and Lehi's is all sophomores. There are fewer than seven juniors on Lehi's varsity team! I.K ROY DOWNS Chris Price took a pass from quarterback Bryce Peterson and netted the young Pioneers their six points. Defensively, the team has been great in every game they've played. They lost to the West Jordan jayvees by a narrow margin and by just a touchdown to touted Delta. The junior Pioneers play today at 4 p.m. on the Lehi field. Fan support would be appreciated. If you want to see some good football action, travel down to the high school and watch the talented and gutsy sophomore Pioneers. Coaches Pierce and Toland are not discouraged despite the losses. "We're proud of these kids. They've got courage and determination. That's what it takes to win games and the season's just starting," Pierce said. The Lehi sophs play the same schedule as the varsity except they play on Thursdays on the opposite field than the varsity. In other words, if the varsity plays at home, the sophs play away, and vice versa. In the game with Delta, Trevor Powell's interception of a Delta pass resulted in a Lehi touchdown. JEWS?
