Show - ages 0 0 WARD TEACHING 0 AARONIC PRIESTHOOD e - 1 , I aviors p 2,000-Yea- r !...0:i.i...-:0$.till.- Ei Nearly two thousand years ago Jesus made this promise: 'Tor where ,two or three are my name, gathered together-ithere am I in the midst of them." (Matt. 18:20.) This assurance must have increased theconfidenCe of His Disciples. Jesus was not Implying that He would be present in person. He was suggesting to themthat He would sustain them with the influence and power of His spirit. ,This promise made so long ago is still valid., When we meet In Sacrament Meeting, we meet in His name. Tills concept should provoke Much serious thought on the part of the members of the Church.-- We should be particularly conscious of what :it means to meet in His name. There should be nothing perfunctory about what we do on such sacred occasions. We should have real concern about the things we do and say. There is- - no meeting where good conduct and proper thought are more important than is necessary in Sacrament, Meeting. Thit meeting is held for the purpose of renewing our 7 covenants with the Lord. Going into this meeting, we should have the same attitude as did David of Old when he aid, "Let the words of my moltth, and the meditations of my heart be 4." acceptable in thy sight . (Psahns 19:4.) 't Although the Savior has given us the assurance of being present in these meetings, His promise, so far as our blessing is concerned, is conditioned upon our behavior. This is one place to demonstrate sincerity In our devotion. We should reverently contemplate upon what our position would be if it were not for the great sacrifice Which He made for Us. Ward teachers may not realize a human tendency to place most everyone- we know in one of three categories: (1) !Those we like ' (2): those we don't like; and (3): those we care little about. We are expected to love everyone even our enemies. , And tinally there are some ward teachers who would judge people by classifying them as being good or bad or somewhere in between. We should remember that the Lord will judge all men and he won't need our help. Leaders in ward teaching should point up these tendencies to ward teachers and then make clear that disctimina-tion in any form against those whom we teach reduces the possibilities of doing' quality ward teaching. it, but there is .4'.' v - , Murray Stake Sets Record Attendance - - , kfr.3 4 gr: lVczlnuT - k- t Cr-e-e-- 4 t Leaders Plan Convelitipn Series 1 The Walnut Creek Stake PresAdencyhas recently announced '4 -- their intention to conduct a series of eight monthly stake conventions for leaders of senior Priest- members of the Aaronic etlood.
