Show DEATH hf F A PIONffRI MRS MARY SPRAGUE PASSED AWAY LAST EVENING She Was In Her Ninetysixth Year and Departed As the Last Leaf Upon the Tree Pails In all HOJor One of the aged pIoneers ot thIs city Mrs Mary Warner Sprague has passed to the great beyond She tell asleep at 530 yesterday afternoon at the advanced ad-vanced age of J5 at her home H South State street Mrs SpragUe was the widow of the late Dr S L Sprague and was born in Cohasset Mass March MRS MARY WARNER SPEAGUL I 1 IS03 four years before the late President Presi-dent Wnford WoOdruff saw the light She came across the plains In ISIS being a member of Brigham Youngs company and owing to the sickness of her husband drove the double ox team most of the way She was at Nauvoo during the troubles there and knew Joseph Smith and his wives all of them Mrs Sprague was an intimate friend or President Young and was a member of his household for a longtime long-time She was esteemed by hIm and by all of the other heads of the church The first 12 apostles were her personal friends After a long lIfe of usefulness she left the world lllte a child sinkIng to its rest In the cradle surrounded by loving friends and enters into the final sleep sincerely mourned by aU those who came in contact with her The friends of her girlhood and womanhood of her advanced age have all gone before I be-fore and she like the last leaf upon the tree falls in all honor Her exact age was 95 years 6 months and 14 days The funeral services wlIl be held in the Thirteenth ward assembly rooms at 1 oclock in the afternoon Saturday the lith Friends of the family are invited to attend Mrs Sprague left one son Samuel L Sprague five grandchildren and one greatgrandchlId |
