Hansen Seth Philip Spainhower Our little Lou Lou turned one on Aug. 28,2008 She loves to dance, play with our dog Gus and play with her older brother and sister Clay and Makaydee. She is the daughter of Mike and Lisa Lyman. Her grandparents are Keith and Glenda Lyman, and John and Barbara Lerwill. Her great grandmother is Barbara Bowen. We love you Lou Lou. Bowen Gary Warner This handsome little guy is Bowen Gary Warner. Bowen celebrated his first birthday on July 31.2009. He is the son of Blake and Tiffani Warner of Spanish Fork. The spoiled grandson of Bryan and Lori Adams of Hobble Creek Canyon, Gary and Lisa Warner of Salem and Rae Ann Warner of Spanish Fork. His great grandparents are Lloyd and Daiiene Nelson of Genola, Lynn and Klea of Spanish Fork, Lila Smith of Spanish Fork, Tony and Beth Jarvts of Provo, Janna Barrett of Provo and Jo Ann Adams of American Fork. Bowen also has 2 great great grandpas. Jack Barrett of Phoenix AZ and Wesley Jarvis of Orem. Bowen's Favorite tilings are being outside, playing in the water, riding on the 4—wheelers and trying to keep up with his big brother Mason and big sister Jaci. Happy birthday Bo! Gary Steve Hansen, 61, of Pay son, passed away Sunday (his favorite day of the week), Aug. 30, 2009 with his family at his side. He could not have been born to better parents Sam J. and Ruby Biggs Hansen on July 26, 1948 in Spanish Fork. He grew up in Spanish Fork and attended school there, graduating with high honors from Spanish Fork High School, where he participated in sports, especially track and football. He also attended Snow College and Brigham Young University. Always being ambitious his youth was spent hauling hay and milking cows. He served an honorable and faithful mission to the Netherlands. He married his eternal companion Janet Porter of Salem, on April 2, 1971 in Spanish Fork. They were sealed in the Manti Temple April 22,1972.They spent most of their married life in Salem and moved to Payson four years ago. They became the parents of five children, three boys and two girls. He loved his family and put their needs and wants before everything else. He worked as a manager for JB's restaurants in New Jersey (a foreign country) and Provo . He worked on the dock for Cream-O-Weber Dairy. He then went to' work for the US Postal Service as a mail carrier. He loved getting to know the people on his route and tried to make a difference in their lives with his happy and friendly attitude and helpful ways. He looked forward to his retirement in about a year. His passion in life was the Dallas Cowboys and Brigham Young University with the Chicago Cubs and the Jazz rounding out his year of sports. Elder Seth Spainhower has returned from the Spokane Washington Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He will be speaking in sacrament meeting on Sept. 13 at 9 a.m. in the Salem 9th Ward located at 60 So. Main in Salem. His parents are Phil and Anita Spainhower. He did not take being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints lightly, serving diligently in his callings including Elders Quorum President and High Priest Group Leader (several times each). He knew the gospel inside out and backward and taught with enthusiasm. He said home teaching was the most important call in the church because it showed the most obedience. Every decision he made was based on gospel principles. He made friends everywhere and everyone was his friend. He is survived by his mother. Ruby Hansen, his wife, Janet Hansen, his children Garrett and Lisa Hansen. Janarie Holm, Holly and Jeremy Draper, Todd Hansen, Dallas Hansen and 15 grandchildren. He is. also survived by a brother Roger Hansen, a sister Jill Talbot and his mother-in-law Phyllis Porter Scott. He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, his sister, Rhochelle Scott and a nephew TJ Scott. Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 3 in the Payson Stake Center. SPANISH FORK Jason Shepherd Elder Jason Shepherd is returning home after serving a successful mission in the Australia Perth Mission. He will report in the Lake Shore 2nd Ward on Sept. 20, 2009 at 11 a.m. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. Jason is the son of Chris and Karen Shepherd, Achievement Brandt Esplin Brandt Esplin- has x.ecently completed a doc? toral dissertation in ifri-.-munology and bone marrow transplantation at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC). Brandt received a prestigious research fellowship from the National Institutes of Health to fund his studies. He was recognized as the outstanding graduate student for both the Department of Immunology and the entire Graduate College at OUHSC. He will now complete his fjnal two clinical years of medical school in the MD/PhD program located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, followed by residency and postdoctoral research work. Dr. Brandt Esplin is a 1998 graduate of Spanish Fork High School and is the son of Reed and Paula Esplin. of Spanish Fork.
