One of the hardest hit was Utah Power and Lights steel towers within Davis County. of the structures collapsed under the wind, causing a record number of Fifty-fiv- e UP and L consumers to be without power. UP and L says the final figure of the damage may be $4 million. A line of wooden poles will be erected temporarily with two 345,000 volt lines until the new, stronger metal towers can be replaced. The Public Service Com mission has begun a probe into the collapse of the towers to see if the power company is liable, or if codes were not upheld at the time of construction. The Davis County School District also will have its problems with cleanup. A list of damages has been compiled by the district, listing by school the damage done. Windows were the hardest hit, but other expensive equipment and decorative trees also were listed. The district said that approximately $80,000 damage occured during the two days. The plan would compensate employees for money lost as a result of recent legislative action.
