Show Community Hospital Savior To Basin During this season of the year when we are observing a holiday holi-day spirit in commemoration of the birth of the Savior we are reminded re-minded that this is the first season sea-son for' many of us when we have lived in a communiy served by such an institution of service to fellowmen as a Community Hospital. The Savior said, "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself". thy-self". The more than seven years that have gone into the construction construc-tion of the hospital and all subsequent sub-sequent efforts have been an expression ex-pression of a willingness to be of service to fellowmen. Our community hospital has now been in operation for four months. A great deal of effort on the part of a goodly number oi people nas Been expended in bringing this service to the point of efficiency it now possesses. The Board of Directors of the Roosevelt Hospital wish to publicly pub-licly acknowledge their debt of gratitude and that of this community com-munity to all those who have assisted as-sisted in making this service a reality. Their appreciation' and thanks goes to the one hundred thirty two hospital service contract con-tract committeemen for their efforts ef-forts in enlisting the six hundred thirty subscripions for family plans and the eighty individual contracts that have been subscribed sub-scribed for to date; to the families fami-lies and individuals who enlisted their support in such a worthy effort; to the Bishops of all the Wards in this area who assisted in organizing the committees; to I Bennie Schmiett and the members mem-bers of the, Junior Chamber of Commerce who canvassed the Roosevelt vicinity for hospital plans; and to members of the staff of FSA. AAA and Extension Exten-sion Service for Stenographical work done. From the stand point of the actual operations of the hospital plant the directors acknowledge their appreciation and thanks to Mrs. Martha E. Shanks for her loyality and unlimited service in assisting in organizing a working work-ing staff; to Dr. Miles and Dr. Whitmore for their understanding understand-ing support to the instituion and their willingness to serve in any and every way possible in furthering fur-thering the service of the hospital; hos-pital; to Mrs. Thvrena Eskelson. Mrs. Virginia Birchcll, Mrs! Bette McKinnon. Mrs. Elsie Harmston, Mrs. Eldrcd Allred, Mrs. Cecil Allred, Mrs. Erma Stolla, Mrs. Ada Cook, Mrs. Margaret Rudy, Mrs. Louisa Campbell, Mrs. Lottie Shepherd, Mrs. Lula Mullins, Mrs. Mary Eldrcdge, Mrs. Ethel Kolb, Donald Don-ald Kolb, Harold Eldredge, Miss Rene Burgess and Miss Betty Morrison, all of whom have assisted as-sisted in making the hospital function. The Directors wish also al-so to express their appreciation to the officers and members of the Relief Society, members of thc Seventies Quorum, the project pro-ject committee and members- of the Roosevelt J. C. C.'s all of whom received special assignments assign-ments in preparing the hospital for opening to the women's organizations or-ganizations of Roosevelt and to their members for their unselfish unsel-fish contribution of time to the operations of the hospital and to Mrs. Jane Page and Mrs. Helen Walker for their special work in this connection; and to all persons per-sons and organizations otherwise unmentioned, if such there be, for their part in this connection. The health problem of any community is a community re-responsibility re-responsibility and in this connection con-nection our community in the larger sense has functioned admirably ad-mirably and well. |
