Floridas Ethics Commission has TAMPA, Fla. recommended that the president of Hillsborough Commu' nity College be suspended without pay for 90 days for sexually harassing administrators, staffers and students at Hillsborough and Miami'Dade Community College over a period of 1 1 years. Did you know that Maggie Aloia, director of Alumni Relations at Westminster College, was the 1969 Homecoming Queen at the College? Queen Aloia arrived at the Homecoming football game in a helicopter which landed on the field. The schools Board of Trustees will now decide Dr. Ambrose Garners exact punishment. Garner has been suspended with pay since April, when the state's Ethics Commission began considering Garners case. Dr. Rosanne Gmuer, then Hillsboroughs director of International Research, claimed last January that Garner told her, I want to go to bed with you. Gmuer refused and was fired in March. Truman Scholarship Foundation provides college scholarships under a program established by Congress as the official Federal memorial to honor the thirty-thir- d President of the United States. Soon after the complaint was filed, "12 or 13 other women who had worked with Garner at Hillsborough and previously at Miami'Dade made similar complaints, Williams said. "In his office or after a business lunch, Williams said of the complaints, '"he would suddenly grab the women, kiss them and stick his tongue in their mouths. Gmuer is suing to get her old job back and added that Hillsborough didnt have a written policy on sexual harassment. They still dont have a policy. Hillsborough spokesman Leonard Brown said the incident hasnt changed much at Hillsborough. "It is as if nothing has happened as far as our operation is concerned.
