Show ANTI-IMPERIALIST LEAGUE, National Organization Has Been Formed In Chicago. Chicago, Oct. 21. A national organization organi-zation to he known as the American Anti-Imperialist League has been formed. Existing organizations will become members at the outset, and the work of forming new organizations will be pushed all over the country. The following were elected as officers offi-cers of the league: President, George S. Boutwell of Massachusetts; vice presidents, George T. Edmonds, Vermont; Ver-mont; J. Sterling Morton, Nebraska; Carl Schurz, New York; Richard T. Crone, Illinois; Donald Caffrey, Louisiana; Louis-iana; Rufus B. Smith, Ohio; John Valentine, Val-entine, California; treasurer, Freder-; Freder-; ick W. Grookin, Illinois; secretary, William J. Mize, Illinois. Edwin Bur-ritt Bur-ritt Smith of Chicago was appointed chairman of the executive committee. Chicago was established as headquarters, headquart-ers, with an eastern office in Boston. |
