A proposition to abolish the office of president of the party, now beid by Kearney, created a breeze iu :the convention. Stevenson, Los Augeles; superintendent superin-tendent ol uublic instruction, H. D. Strom, Santa Barbara; chief juslico, R. F. Morrison, S-in Francisco; first associate justice, I. B. McKoe, Alameda. Ala-meda. Ihe remaining associate justices jus-tices will bo nominated to-morrow. Tho congressional convention ol the Second district nominated P. J. : Hopper, of Sacramento, for congress from that district. While is a farmer, wa3 a member of Ihe constitutional convention and is considered a gocd ucmiuatiou. Andrus was recently reelected mayor of Oakland by the workiogmen, which office he has tilled acceptably. Krug is a promiueut viniculturist. Cross is a promising young lawyer. Morrison is judgn of the Fourth district dis-trict court, and McKee of the Third district. Both are first class nominations. |
