Next Week Summit County had a very good representation at the Miss Rodeo Utah Contest this year. Miss Summit .County Rodeo, Julie Stephens and first attendant, Kathy Richins participated event in Ogden. Julie was one of the five finalists in the two-dand Kathy also did very well. Julie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lavell Stephens and Kathy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Richins, both girls are from Henefer. The Rodeo Queen Committee would like to thank the Summit. County Rodeo Royalty, Julie, Kathy and Donna Atkinson for all the work and effort the girls and their parents have put forth in behalf of the county fair. They have traveled to many places to do advertising for the Fair that most people arent aware of. Jim Rush forth, Certified Public Accountant, discussed the recent audit of the county with the Commissioners. In his recommendations Mr. Rushforth suggested methods of taking care of County Funds and Records need some updating. The accountant stated the county is growing rapidly and has ' also grown considerably in the last few years, and there is no way for the population of the County to go, hut up. He recommended to the Commissioners consideration of some mechanical methods of keeping records and handling money. It was suggested perhaps an overall program designed by someone who knows how such a program could lienefit all departments could tie worked on. Mr. Rushforth also commented on the excellent quality of personnel the County had working in its various offices. Wes Maughn, Utah State Extension Service, representing Mountain Fuel Supply Company explained the reasons a new gas line was being run from Coalville to Bountiful. According to the representative the first purpose was to eliminate a gas shortage for the Wasatch Front and the other to aid in case of a national disaster, which could possibly result in a break in one or both of the other lines going into the area.
