F vice-preside- nt Vice-preside- JOIN THE nt HAPPY THRONG t Traffic Accidents The dread responsibility which has to be assumed by the driver of an automobile when other passengers are riding with him is further borne out from analysis of Utahs 1953 fatal traffic accidents, the Utah Safety Council reported today. 61 per cent of 209 traffic fatali- ties for the year were persons other than the driver of the vehicle involved, the safety council study revealed. This figure represents 47 pedestrians and 81 occupants who were passengers at the time of the accidents in which they were killed. For each driver who was killed a passenger was also killed. A. LeRoy Taylor, special consultant to the safety council and who made the analysis for the council, warned Utahns to keep such facts in mind, particularly when carrying passengers.
