A Lamoreaux while hUe making an address at the funeral services of Thos Robb a pioneer of that city suddenly collapsed and died The services had gone along as Is customary the opening songs and prayer having been given when when Mr Lamoreaux a life long friend of of the deceased was called to the pulpit to tc deliver the funeral sermon Mr Lamoreaux after his opening remarks made the st statement that he was as the only surviving member of the group of men that were appointed in the Ine early days or of Paragonah as minutemen minute minutemen men to guard the town from the de depredations depredations depredations de- de predations of the Indians A moment or two following this remark he re remained remained remained re- re silent and then stated I cant can't talk any more collapsed and fell to the floor dead Mr Lamoreaux is well ell known to practically all the people of the county county coun court ty especially the older people He was Identified with the settlement of Paragonah and as he stat stated was active as a minute man In guarding the lives and property of the people during the stirring times Umes of Indian depredations He has always been an active citizen In the community In which he lived and worked faithfully for the progress of Paragonah During the past year and a half he served as president of the Town Board of the place He Jle I has always been a highly respected citizen honored and revered by both old and young oung It Is understood that funeral services for the deceased will ill be held this af af- af- af |
