Show AMUSEMENTS. Oakland Cokcf.ut comrdt Co. A large and appreciative audience greeted the Garlaud Concert, Comedy & Vaudeville Co. at the hall Wednesday night and those In attendance were well paid for going. The performance was certainly a vaudeville show of considerable consider-able merit. The Garland Dance Orchestra furnished furn-ished music for the occasion. ' Tho show opened with Jasper Green and Ilautiah Smith In black face character charac-ter songs and dances and Joe and his sister sis-ter Estclla made a bit as "coons from Alabam." The ono act drama "A Harmless Flirtation," Flirt-ation," brought forth storms of applause and tho characters, Mr. Leo Clayton and Miss Barbara Wauless, did justico to their respective parts. We must not overlook the little black waiter girl, Mrs Estclla Clayton, for she, too, was pro-mincnt pro-mincnt in the tllrtatlon scene. "Black Pattl," alias Estclla O., certainly cer-tainly whistled lu line stylo and was recalled re-called by the audience. Spclgolhclmer Dros , tho two Jolly dntchmcn, Perkins aud Grover, are entitled en-titled to the prize, as their part of the show was one of the best features. Miss Datbara Wauless as the little school girl in her song "Could You Love a Little Girl Like Me" looked very charmlug aud had to make a second appearance to quiet tho applause of tbo audience. "That Wlfo of Mluo," tho second one-act one-act drama, with Leo and Joe as the star characters, was highly appreciated. Tho show concluded with "The Musical Musi-cal Burglar." Iu this scene Mr. Joseph Klrkbam plays burglar and enters a home wheru all kinds of musical instruments are In bight. He picks up ono after the other and gives tho audience a fine concert, con-cert, finishing with some choice selections selec-tions on his Bottle-phone. The curtain cur-tain falls aud the only kick coming was "not enough bottlelnsky music." Give us more home plays. . The Battmc ok Life Co. The Battle of Lire Co. drew good sized houses both Thursday and Friday night at the Amusement hall aud gave geuerat satisfaction in the presentation of "Tho Battle of Life" Thursday evening and "The Shadows of a Great City" last night. The compauy is ono of the best traveling troups that has visited our city this season. Tbo company consists of tho following stars: Walter Chrlstenscn, Mgr., Wm. Shopp-mail, Shopp-mail, Geo.
