Ho hail been In Ashland and started to drive home. His horso stepped on a nail and ho put the animal In a stable. sta-ble. Then ho started to wnlk home and was on the mountain when the cries of a wildcat alarmed him. A fow minutes later he saw tho beast ten feet In front of him. Tho animal finally sprang. He Jumped aside and as tho body of tho cat struck tho road no leaped iion it. For several minutes min-utes tho light between tho wild animal ani-mal and the mnn went on. At longth by a quick swing ho broke tho animal's ani-mal's back. A physician dressed tho several deep scratches on his face and hands, but otherwise ho was uninjured. |
