Merrell, mother of the groom was gracious in a blue formal and Mrs. Warren, the brides mother was lovely in white. Corsages of cymbidium orchids and yellow roses adorned their left shoulders. Ben Glover and Kenneth Nielsen stood with the groom as best men and all men in the wedding party were wearing boutenniers. Mrs. Reva Brown Blair entertained during the receiving hours with two vocal solos. Miss Arlene Merrell and Mrs. Harley and daughter were in charge of the gifts with Mrs. A. B. Taylor in charge of the dining room. Mrs. John White received the guests at the door. The couple is spending a honeymoon on the west coast. Box Elder county is one of four in the state that is being invaded by the grasshoppers. Unless they are killed they will become destructive. For hoppers in dry areas, where the grass is no longer green and the vegetation is mostly dead, the proper poison to use on the hoppers is dust toxaphene mixed in bran. This is the poison that is being distributed to the farmers free of charge. To obtain the toxahene the farmers must contact Mr. Willie at the county court house. It will be necessary for the farmers to mix the bran and poison themselves. For areas where the vegetation is still green Chlordane is the most efficient poison to use on the hoppers. It can be obtained at feed stores for 13 cents a pound. When applied io' large areas as a spray one and a half pounds Of actual toxaphene or one pound of actual chlordane should be applied to each acre.
