Leron scored a total of 85 points in showing 12 birds at the contest. The judging was based on seven points of quality of the birds. Leron received five points for body, 30 points for 25 points for confirmation, weight, 15 points for mortality rate, 15 joints for feed efficiency, 10 points for record kept and five points for feathering. Out of a flock of 300 birds Leron had a mortality rate of only one per cent or three birds. The birds averaged 4.3 pounds in weight apiece. Arltmd Jeppsen of Mantua was second in the contest with a total of 78 points. His birds averaged 4.2 pounds. Robert Tingey of Brigham City won third place With a total of 77 points. His birds averaged four pounds per bird. Roff Wight of Harper won fourth place with 96 points. Other boys from, this section who competed in the contest were Ted Morse, Therald Quayle, Richard Reeder, Reece Quale and Lawrence.
