Dern, Senator King ttate that bo presented to Lhc Indian bureau the memorial adapted adapt-ed by the legislature of Utah, heiD& Memorial No. 2, by Mr. Dillman, memorializing -congress ami the com-niiseloner com-niiseloner of Indian, affairs, to make provisions for the control and eradi-caton eradi-caton of noxious weeds on the Indian lands and canals within the basin. Senator King also stated in his letter to the commissioner that it his bureau had authority to make the appropriation indicated in the mem orial, he sincerely hoped steps would be taken to comply with the law of the stale in this 'regard; and that, if cutlvority was lacking, that :he would offer a bill as soon as congrs mc:t.3 this month conferring authority upon Ike Indian bureau to cooperate in the eradication of noxious weeds upon the lai.ds referred to.
