Show DIED I ADAAt St George Utih on May 9th 18So Emma J Adams aged 54 years Emma Jackson Adams was born in Miln thorpe England December 9th 1830 and was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints at Kendal England in the fall of ISol She married Elder Samuel L dams at Liverpool England Eng-land February 6th 1852 and sailed a few days after for Zion arriving in Salt Lake City with her husband in Elder A O Smoots company September 1852 She resided in Nephi Juab County from 184 till 18G1 In the latter year her husband being be-ing called Upon to go to St George Washington Wash-ington County she removed with him to that place in the winter of that year With the exception of intervals amounting in all to about three years she has continued to reside in St George until her death which occurred on May 9th 183 She leaves her husband four children sixteen grandChildren grand-Children and a very large circle of friends to mourn her loss She was an affectionate wife a tender mother and a consistent mem her of the church with which ske had united herself She has been a confirmed invalid for ten yea s past and during that time has suffered intense physical pain yet she was patient cheerful and considerate in all her suflerings She passed away peacefully and died in the hope of glorious resurrection resur-rection We feel that she is not lost but gone before A large concourse of her brethren and sisters her old friends and acuqaintances paid their last tribute of I affection at her funeralsen which were held in St Geoege on the afternoon of May 1 10th 1SS5 COM |
