Show The London Abduction Case, r; . London, October 28. The trial of the Arm-; Arm-; strong abduction case was resumed at the Central Criminal Court to-day. Testimony for the prosecution being all in, the Attorney General announced that his side of the case was closed. Charles Russell, counsel for the defense, then addressed tne court in behalf of the prisoners. He vindicated the sublime motives of Mrs. Jarrett when she took the girl from her mother for Mr. Stead, and claimed that the absence of the consent of the father did not make the act a crime, if the mother's consent had been given without misrepresentation or fraud. Stead then addressed the jury in behalf of himself and the defendants. His argument was on the basis that the end justified the moans.- - --- -- - , - - Court then adjourned. |
