Show IHontana Indians Away From Home. Washington, November 18. Agent Armstrong, Arm-strong, of the Crow Agenoy in Montana, has telegraphed the Interior Department that the Indians on Tongue river are properly supplied with rations and are in no danger of starvation. It is said at the Department that a number of Indians left Blue Ridge Agency some time ago despite the protest of their agent, and went into the Tongue river country. . The agent at the Tongue River Agency, under instruction from the Department, Depart-ment, refused to issue rations to them. It is presumed that their condition has given rise to the report of suffering among the Tongue River Indians. If the truant Indians are in distress they must return to Pine River Agency, where their rations are issued. |
