Sealed Proposals, indorsed "Proposals for the construction of Indian School Building at Grand Junction," will be received at the office of Indian Affairs, at Washington, D. C, until Saturday, October 24th, at 12 o'clock m. The building will be two stories; main part, 60x36 feet; with two wings, each 59x19 feet. Bids may be made for a brick building with stone foundation, foun-dation, and for a building entirely of stone. Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible re-sponsible bidder or bidders subject to the approval ap-proval of the Secretary of the Interior ; the right is, however, reserved to reject any and all bids or any part of any bid if deemed for the best interests of the service. Proposals must state length of time required, after approval of contract, for completion of building, as the time required will be taken into consideration. Each bid must give names of all parties interested inter-ested in or parties to it, and must have attached to it copy of this advertisement. CERTIFIED CHECKS. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or draft upon some United States depository depos-itory payable to the order of the Commissioner of Indian Affairs, which check or draft shall not be less than five per centum of the amount of the bid, and shall be forfeited to the United States in case any bidder receiving au award shall fail to execute properly a contract with good and sufficient sureties according to the terms of his bid. Bids not accompanied by a certified check or draft will not be considered. Parties receiving awards will at once enter into contracts. The contract may provide for three payments; two of which will be made at such stages of the work as will fully protect the United States, the last when the buildings are completed and accepted. J.
