Show Cleveland and His Appointments. Washington, Novenber 19. The National Republican publishes the following: The President, in conversation with a Republican Senator Tuesday, told the latter he would esteem it a great favor if Senators knowing anything objectionable or detrimental to the public interest about any person or persons appointed by him would apprise him of the facts. The President expects that a fight will be made on some of his appointments, but believes that the majority of the Republican Repub-lican Senators will oppose any attempt to defeat oonfirmatiom except in cases where unimpeachable facts are presented, and if such cases exist that the objection will be called to his attention before there is any organized opposition. |
