Show "The Mikado's" 200th Jiight. Mr. W. A. Thompson, manager of the Thompson Opera Company, reports that the performance of "The Mikado" by his company at the Salt Lake Theatre on Monday night will represent their 200th presentation of the opera. On this occasion, and to celebrate theJ remarkable and successful run they have had with Gilbert & Sullivan's inimitable burlesque, each lady will be presented with a beautiful souvenir of the piece.and no expense will be spared by the management man-agement to make the production surpass anything in the comic opera line ever seen in Salt Lake. The new scenery and costumes imported from Japan will be used for the first time on this anniver sary, and as Some of the special scenery is by the well-known artist Lamphere, some finely-executed and reliable Oriental Orien-tal stage pictures will add to the merits of what is described as being a perfect performance. . - |
